Children are using spoken language (with or without sign) while communicating with each other.
The children are quiet, pointing, using gestures when communicating with each other. Children use signs without attempts to use oral language.
Small number of children for each teacher.
Large number of children for each teacher.
Children wear their hearing aids and/or cochlear implants.
Children do not wear their hearing aids and/or cochlear implants.  Children remove their devices during the day (e.g. when on the playground or school bus).
Children in the class provide good speech and spoken language modeling. Children communicate using CASE, consistently speaking while signing.
Children communicate frequently by using gestures, single words or incomplete sentences.
Children are attentive and respond to the teacher.
The children respond poorly when called upon or heavily rely on visual cues before responding.
